Charmed by Moonstone

Today I have been making some nature inspired charms using genuine moonstone, Lucite bell shaped beads and the most teeny of tiny leaping hares.  Just look at all the light that comes from inside the moonstone.  Beautiful!  I have threaded the charms onto organza ribbon but they can be added to any type of chain, ribbon or cord and worn as a pendant on a necklace.  I have used lilac, soft green and peach coloured beads that all complement the rainbow of colours that emanate from the moonstone.

If you would like to be the owner of one of the charms above then please leave a comment here stating your favourite semi-precious gemstone, flower and animal.  When I feel that I have enough respondents I will draw a name out of the hat or use the random number generator (if I can figure out how to use it!)

The only 'rule' I have about entering the giveaway is that you must have commented on the blog on a previous occasion.

Good Luck

  3. These are so beautiful Simone and I love the colours you used as they work so well together. Not sure what my favourite semi-precious gemstone is as I've never given it much thought but I do like the one you used as it's so pretty, I quite like wild flowers such as the ones you find along country lanes and I think poppies are so beautiful and delicate as for animals I'd say birds and cats.

  9. Your necklaces are works of art. The stones look as though they are breathing.
I find it impossible to claim any favorites. They're always shifting depending on the mood. I like all gem stones and all flowers and all animals. Perhaps today I'm thinking of rubies and snowdrops and wee baby kittens.
Best wishes on your giveaway. Makes me think I should do one soon...

  11. Hi Simone, I love those tiny hares - so sweet!! My favourite gemstone is Peridot, especially since I discovered it is my brother's birthstone: I have some very pretty Peridot/Silver earrings. Chimpanzees (any kind of monkey really) are my favourite animals and freesias are my favourite flowers - they have such a beautiful fragrance.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  12. Lovely, Simone!

Hmmm... I love moonstones, too. And roses are my favorite flower. As for animal... that is the hard one. Today I will say birds.

    What fun!

  13. The charms you've made are just so sweet, the hare is lovely.
Can I say amber (though probably not strictly treated as a gem stone), daffodils and as for the animal I'm stumped. Don't let my cats know though!

  14. Hi Simone - your charms are so very pretty and charming. The moonstone is gorgeous and I just love those tiny hares they are one of my favourite animals, for flowers it has to be Peonies and my favourite stone is the Sapphire (my engagement ring is Sapphire and diamond) I am not sure which semi-precious stone I would choose probably the deep blue Tanzanite. 15. Simone, they are stunning, and its very generous of you to offer one in a draw. I love moonstone, I was very annoyed to lose one of a favourite pair of moonstone earrings late last year! I also love amethyst, being drawn to most things purple, and Labradorite is another favourite- different everytime you loom at it! favourite animal- feline, all sizes, and favourite flower is the beautiful timeless rose, followed by sweetpeas, freesias and lavender!

blessings of imbolc to you simone, may this turn in the wheel lift all our spirits now
