- Make herbal teas in the tisaniere that has sat in its box for over a year.
- Stock up on good quality wines whilst they are on special offer in the supermarkets.
- Make freezer strawberry jam before the strawberry season finishes.
- Have at least one afternoon tea in the garden with tiny cakes and cucumber sandwiches.
- Buy a bottle of Pimm's limited edition Blackberry and Elderflower.
- Make homemade lemonade.
- Buy some new ice cube trays and freeze borage flowers for decorating drinks.
- Sow lettuce leaves in succession.
- Get in the garden at every opportunity.
- Take lots of photos to look back on in the cold and dreary winter months.
Do you have a summer checklist?
No, no checklist for me - I take things as they come. Enjoy your summer Simone!
ReplyDeleteI really like your list. Some great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI take things as they come these days, not good for me to plan or have lists only shopping lists things never go to plan. But.........I am going seek out one of those tisanieres for Fresh Ginger Tea

What lovely things to do you have on your checklist. I have a similar teapot which sits sadly neglected at the top of a cupboard and I also intend to make some strawberry jam if we have enough strawberries this year - last summer was a good one for our strawberry plants. I hope it gets warm enough soon to sit out in the garden again - my main need at the moment is to see the sea and walk on a beach which I hope to do soon:)
ReplyDeleteNo I don't have a list but yours sounds good to me Simone. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,

I'm not organised enough for a checklist at the moment, yours sounds good though, I'll try and "borrow" a couple of items.
ReplyDeleteSimone,
ReplyDeleteYour photograph is amazing. It would make a perfect greeting card image.
And thanks for reminding me that summer is for doing summertime things, those which we dream about all winter. The time is now, dear friend, so get through that beautiful list and more. Sending love across the waves on a summer's breeze.
That sounds like a very summery list, I like it! I might have to transfer some onto a list of my own Simone! Xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvellous list for catching the essence of summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the new Pimms drink, sounds divine!

Hi Simone - I am just catching up with everyone and you sound like you are settling down to enjoy the summer. I wish I lived near enough to invite myself to one of your afternoon teas and a glass of homemade lemonade - they sound delicious! My list is not nearly as exciting just full of errands and jobs but you have made me think of adding in a few items of pure self indulgence and enjoyment. xx
ReplyDeleteI don't have a list, but yours sounds wonderful, Simone!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful summery week.

....makes me feel cooler and fresher
just to read your beautiful list.
cheers to the season of sipping,

What a refreshing summer checklist, Simone! Mine involves cleaning out my studio, keeping out of the way of workmen in my home, keeping cool and hopefully creating some artwork! Can't wait to see your blog posts about all of your wonderful homemade treats!!xx
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a checklist. I just know I want to spend as much time in my garden as I can. Your mint tea is inspiring me. I have a big barrel of mint and want to use it. I was thinking of making tea with mint and rose petals and lavender because I have lots of all 3.
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying it all!
