..........and just like that summer began to fade. The elderflowers had turned to elderberries and the collared doves pecked at them freely. Goodbye summer of 2013. You have been most welcome.
~ For those of you that wish to hold on to summer just that little bit longer ~ autumn does not officially start until 22 September, according to my diary. You still have a few weeks left to savour the season.
I'm not giving up on summer yet Simone! Not yet!! :)

Re your previous post..
ReplyDeleteI just did
It has been one to remember, for sure, but it's definitely on the wane. I'm enjoying these final soft days.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Green rabbit - I am hoping summer will stay a while longer even though there are signs of autumn in the air. September is always a time for new beginnings too so all is not lost even though the days are getting shorter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo and poetic words, Simone. I love September days, and I love autumn.......but I'm holding on to summer just a little bit longer here!

Autumn can start as soon as it likes - it's my favourite season:) As for the elderberries they're still green round here so no elderberry rob just yet!
ReplyDeleteThere is an autunmal feel to the early mornings that I have noticed over the last week although later in the day summer is still very much with us - a sort of halway house between the two seasons, I think:)
ReplyDeleteI love autumn and always look forward to it, but I plan to enjoy these last days of summer.
ReplyDeleteHope you do also, Simone! xx
Love autumn but glad it doesn't start till 22nd - I've got a couple of days by the sea to look forward to before that! But the garden is full of blackberries already ripened so its definitely on the way. Lovely photo of you Simone.
