Handmade Soap

My second attempt at making soap was much more satisfactory than the last time I made it.  I prepared the herbs so that the 'botanical bleed' was minimal, added more essential oil and shrink wrapped the soap the moment it was set.  I have been testing out the soap in the bathroom for the last couple of weeks with no adverse effects.

I have wrapped the soap with a simple paper band so that you can still see what the soap looks like.  A hand written label completes the look   It would be so much cheaper for me to buy soap from the supermarket  (My husband insists on Dove!) but I like the process of experimenting and researching with the bonus of an end product.

Later today I hope to fit in some paper crafting and then put my efforts onto my Pootling with Paper blog that I haven't updated since 2012!  Where does the time go?

Thank you for the Birthday wishes on Monday.  The day didn't quite go as planned but at least the sun was shining.  Have a lovely weekend. x

  9. Your soap looks great. I've been gathering supplies to make my own soap and I'm really excited to try it out. A little nervous about the lye, but I really want to do it. I did have such fun doing the melt and pour soap quite a few years back as Christmas presents for friends and family.

I wonder how the scented pelargonium leaves would work in your soap. Maybe for the next batch?
