A Moment in Time 1969

This is my school photo of 1969.  I was six years old.  Can you tell which one is me?  I'll give you some clues: I never liked to follow rules; I never wanted to be the same as anyone else; I was painfully shy but ended up having attention focused on me.  I don't remember what command was given but it was probably to face straight ahead, arms by side or folded.  Yeh. Right.

The little girl with her hand in the air.  What was I thinking! I find it difficult to conform 51 years later!

    1. Photos are subjective Tasker. All is not always as it seems.

  3. Lovely photo Simone, you have a lovely smile. My mum used to tell me about once having her school photo taken she had to get her handkerchief out of her tunic pocket, the teacher shouted at her and she said something along the lines of 'Well, I've got to blow my nose haven't I?' always makes me smile:)

    1. Thank you Rosie! On reflection I may have a handkerchief in my hand and just finished blowing my nose! I bet your Mum got told off for cheeking back! You have reminded me of something about my Mum. At my Mum's school the teacher said 'If all the World was paper and all the sea was ink, if the moon and stars were bread and cheese what would we have to drink?' To which my Mum shouted out 'We'd have to drink the ink' - she got so much in trouble for that! :)

  4. I thought that was you before I scrolled down and saw you had helped us! You have got a nice smile. I never wanted to conform either although I don't think I actively went about not to, it just happens doesn't it?! You are a bit younger than me, as I expect you realise, not that age makes any difference at our age!

    1. Thanks Bonnie. I often wonder what happened to the little girl with the free spirit. I think she's still there and I just have to find her again! :)

  6. I love it! You look like you're having a good time, at least.

When Matthias had his photo taken for his college ID the person taking the photo said something to him and he responded. The photo was taken in the middle of his saying something like "what?" It was terrible, but also incredibly funny. And they didn't retake the photo so he was stuck with it. Whenever either of us needed a laugh we'd pull out his ID.

    1. Poor Matthias stuck with his unflattering ID! Luckily we get more than one shot at it these days don't we? :)
