I thought I would give collage a miss today and try out some gouache paints.
I think it is the first time I have painted straight to paper without having penciled a sketch in before hand.
It's OK. It's a bit raw. I just have to practice now.
I may even try to make a collage one!
Goodness it's wonderful Simone!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Vivienne! x
DeleteAbsolutely lovely! I think I'm drawn to the dark background. Been using a lot of black in my quilts to set off the colors. Please keep going and sharing. A delight to see through your blog's window on a chilly, windy, cloudy day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon! I like the dark backgrounds of the old oil paintings of flower arrangements. It does make the colours pop! It is chilly and cloudy here today too but we have had some welcome sunshine the last two days.
DeleteYou are no slouch at painting, are you? That is very good especially as you had not used pencil to start.
ReplyDeleteLove the word 'slouch!' Thanks T.A!
DeleteBeautiful! You have an amazing talent. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie. You are very kind. I have never thought of myself having any sort of talent!
DeleteBrilliant Simone - the dark background really gives a certain luminous quality to the flowers. x

DeleteYour painting is lovely, Simone are you going to choose a frame for it?:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosie! I am not going to frame it as it is just a practice piece. :)
