Bloggers Bead Necklace of 2012

It was June 2012 when I requested a bead from each blog reader, so I could make a bloggers bead necklace.  Can you believe that it was almost 9 years ago?  I can't!!!

Nineteen readers participated from here in the UK and around the World.  Sadly very few of them continue to blog.  Did you send in a bead or two?  Can you see it here?  It was so much fun to receive the post and find out what treasures I had been sent.

The blogging community was generous in spirit and I felt very much part of it.  It is good to have happy memories to look back on.  Many of the beads came with an accompanying letter and I have them to this day.  I think I should put the letters together with the necklace as they complete the story.

Thank you to everyone who took part.

Reminiscing About Kitten Days

Looking at Lyn's post on her new kitten family it reminded me of when we first got Gizmo 8 years ago!  Here he is pictured above.  He had such a tiny little tail back then that grew into a great big bushy fox like tail.  He looks so timid in that photo but from day one he showed who boss was!

It has been a very strange week.  On Monday I put up some photos of me on this blog, then I took them down.  I put the photos back up yesterday and then took them down again!  I would like you to see who writes this blog at some stage but perhaps not such close up mug shots!

I'm in one of my fidgety moods today.  There are some uncertainties in my life at the moment and I feel that I can't settle until things are put into place.  Hopefully things will be ironed out shortly.

Halcyon Days

My sister and me in the early 1960's.  I am on the right in a blue dress.  White socks, Clarks shoes and hair tied in plaits was the order of the day.  That's Auntie Nell looking out over her gate watching us scooter up and down our street.  The sky was blue, the streets were clean and all was right with the World.

My innocent self back in 1969.  If only that child knew then what I know now.
