Firstly having loads of trouble with Blogger again and trying to upload photos. Had to revert to 'old' Blogger settings hence the strange writing and photo sizes. Gizmo is home again. He has a bandage where he was on a drip. The Veterinary Nurse said I may be shocked when I take the bandage off, as his leg doesn't look very nice. She had trouble putting the drip into him as he is 'feisty'. I dread to think what I may find!
He was admitted to the surgery for observation as he was vomiting (excessively) after eating. I explained that he was vomiting about half an hour to an hour after eating. So, I find out that they gave him anti-vomiting injections and put him on a drip. He hadn't eaten any food so he wouldn't vomit would he?
He's back home now after two nights away. He came in and ate a spoonful of the 'special' food they had made up for him. Within half an hour he vomited. I have paid not far short of £300.00 and we are back to square one. He is due back at the vets on Friday. He seems well in himself so I am in no hurry to rush back to the vets at this point.
Today Gizmo received a timely gift. He received this lovely handmade cat toy all the way from the U.S.A from my lovely blogging friend Judy. Thank you Judy it was the tonic that Gizmo needed! Thank you also to all my Blogging pals who left messages on my last post. You are always there when I need you. I thank you for that. x
Glad to see Gizmo home but I do hope he gets really better very soon and stops the nasty vomiting.

I have only just caught up with your last post and this one. I do hope they work out what is wrong with the lovely Gizmo, he is so cute there with his bandage on!
ReplyDeleteI am sure they will and before long he will be back to normal. I remember years ago my old cat Bob kept being sick and coughing and he went the vets and they found a small piece of leaf with a serated edge stuck in his throat but too far down to let them see it. After he was asleep they had to remove it carefully and he was ok after-cost an arm and a leg mind! (we got rid of the plant from our garden!!)
sending hugs for Gizmo.
love

At least you have the gorgeous boy home with you! He certainly seems to want to play anyway. I assume they have checked all the obvious things so maybe it will just stop of it's own accord, maybe a viral thing!

Glad to see Gizmo back home, and looking his usual gorgeous self. Hopefully the toy will distract him from nibbling the bandage. Sounds as if you've had a frustrating time finding out what the problem is, but I hope things resolve themselves.
ReplyDeleteI've been having problems uploading pictures with blogger today as well. Apparently it's a 'known problem', and, like Gizmo's tummy trouble, 'being investigated' by the nice people at the blogger vet.
Poor Gizmo, I hope that things improve. Have you thought of Homoeopathy? The French use it a lot.
ReplyDeleteSo glad he's home now! I hope they figure out what's wrong on the next trip to the vet's.
ReplyDeleteGlad he is home again and well in himself. Hope they can discover the cause without too much further trauma either to Gizmo or to your finances!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your furry friend home again! I hope the vomit will stop soon!
ReplyDeletePlease give him a virtual cuddle from me!

I'm so glad Gizmo is home with you, but he still sounds a bit poorly. It's such a worry with animals cos they can't tell you. It's like having another child! I hope recovers soon!

Poor Gizmo! Hope they find out what's the matter soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you home Gizmo, hope they get you sorted out soon xx
ReplyDeleteSending good wishes to poor Gizmo, and to worried you! I'm glad the toy came at a good time and that he enjoyed it. I hope Gizmo continues to improve - keep us posted! He certainly has many well-wishers!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see your furry ginger boy is back home again! Poor Gizmo and poor you and your purse! Pet health care doesn't come cheap! But at least he should be on the mend now and nothing horrible was discovered, so hopefully he will be back to his old self very soon. Have a happy (nearly) weekend.
