Woodwose and Blocked Nose

I am looking very much like my lovely woodwose ornament at the moment with his heavily bagged eyes and tired expression.  I succumbed to a rotten cold on Tuesday and after much sneezing and nose blowing it escalated to a full on nose bleed.  My sinuses are completely seized up and I feel like I am breathing under water.  Why do these things always happen when there is so much to do?

Anyway, I really wanted to blog today and hastily decorated my mantel piece just so that I would have a photograph to accompany this post!  Whilst I have been convalescing I have been doing a little jewellery making with next year in mind and practising various techniques.  I really should be out Christmas shopping but cannot face it just now as health wise I do feel at rock bottom.  Thankfully I have done a bit of shopping in advance and if I conserve my energy for now I will be raring to go by Monday!

Must go now.  Just realised that I haven't even dragged a comb through my hair today!  I can be so sloven at times!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Oh poor you - I know how you feel having just had the same. I think you would be wise to stay indoors as not only would you pass your bug round to all and sundry your immune system will be compromised at the moment and you don't want to pick up anything else on top of it do you?! Hope you will feel better soon. Have you tried Sterimar for your sinuses? My French friend with whom I spoke via Skype whilst I was suffering suggested it and it seems to help although it might be that by the time I was well enough to go out and get some I was on the mend anyway! Keep warm and give yourself some TLC and hope you will soon be well and if the shopping doesn't get done postpone Christmas till later.

  2. Awe poor you, having had problems with my sinuses, since forever, you have my complete sympathy. I'm sure you've tried everything but some Olbas oil in steaming water with a towel over your head can be very effective! Hope you feel much better soon.
Your mantle is looking lovely by the way!

I hope you are feeling better now a few days on from this post and that you've been able to get out and get some shopping sorted.

  10. I hope you are taking good care of yourself. Nourishing and resting your body. Maybe by now you're even feeling back to normal? Hope you were able to shake off the bug quickly!
