Thank you for all the Birthday wishes in my last post. It was a day of sunshine and showers! I spent part of the day looking at my new book on making felt animals. With so many animals to choose from; squirrels, rabbits, moles, mice - I opted to make a bear!
After transferring the pattern to felt I have carefully cut the pieces out. I am opting to hand sew the bear but depending on how I progress may use the sewing machine if I make other animals. I don't think this will be an easy make as there are things like cotter joints involved in the making!
I have never made a jointed toy before and feel quite excited in doing something 'grown up'. I will be forever the child in getting pleasure in the newness of experiencing something different.
Isn't creativity great for lifting the spirits.
ReplyDeleteJust off to google 'cotter joints'
(don't grow up... it's a trap!)

Awe so glad you're enjoying the process...I can't wait to see!

Great to hear you enthuse about a new project, Simone and who can resist a bear? I'm off to google 'cotter joints' too!:)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you are making a bear and have already begun! Creating something is the best feeling!

Oh, look forward to seeing your bear - cotter joints are fine so long as you have the correct tools xx
ReplyDeleteNever heard of a cotter joint, but you are so skilled in so many crafts I bet this make will be a success.
