Chocolate Chaos

OK.  This isn't the most delectable photo but the product is!   At Christmas time I usually make some Christmas bark chocolate for gift giving.  You can see my blog post about it here.  Gosh!  Was that post really 6 years ago?

The 'chocolate chaos' above was really a bit of an experiment.  I put a jug of ice cold water into a sink full of cold water and ice cubes.  I then melted down some chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a pan of simmering water.  When the chocolate was molten, I poured it from a great height with a spoon into the chilled jug of water.  I then immediately poured the set chocolate pieces into a sieve and allowed to drain.  Once I had used all the chocolate up this way I spread the chocolate out onto a baking sheet and put in the freezer to set for a couple of minutes.  I then transferred it to an airtight container and put it into the fridge.

It's not pretty but it is fun!  It could be sprinkled over ice cream or used as decoration to top a cake or eaten just as it is straight from the container.

There wasn't a great financial outlay to make this: using two 100g everyday value supermarket own brand chocolate at 0.45p per bar! I used milk chocolate first and then made a batch with dark chocolate.  If you decide to make it let me know how you got on!

Happy Weekend!
