In
the name of research I spent a few hours out and about yesterday. I
walked in solitude soaking up the atmosphere in the gardens of Myddelton
House.
A bank of snowdrops shimmered in the early sun.
I admired the shape and design of gold painted leaves on the intricate
wrought iron gate. So often I get distracted by the detail..............
How lovely the snowdrops are and the details in the gate too. It looks like a lovely place to visit:)
ReplyDeleteThere were so many snowdrops Rosie. They have a snowdrop sale there every year which draw in people far and wide. x
DeleteWhat a pretty place Simone!!

You would have loved it Vivienne. There is a nice place to have a cream tea and an interesting visitors centre and museum too. x
DeleteHi, my dear friend! I'm finally sitting down to read some blogs. (It's about time!).
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all that glorious green (and flowers). Here the view is white and grey and brown. Hills of snow along the road that are anywhere up to four feet tall (and taller in some places... mountains in parking lots). I miss green!
So glad you were out and about. Looks like a magical place.
Hi Anne! I am pleased to see you here. It was a lovely visit; warm sunshine, blue sky, birds singing...... what more could one want? :)
DeleteOh, you give us hope that winter won't last forever. The hillside of snowdrops must have been humming with joy. I've been wondering if you've kept up with your goal of walking. Even short jaunts count and in this case we benefit as well. Thanks for the photos, Simone.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon! There was swathes of snowdrops and crocuses too. I also saw beehives and bees pollinating the flowers! It was so much like a spring day. I have kept up with my goal of walking. I did over 100 miles in January and am on track this month too. :)
Deletewahoo! good for you, simone.
DeleteI love the Snowdrop walks - I am hoping there will stil be some open in Scotland when we go up this week.
ReplyDeleteThe place is known for its annual snowdrop sale which happens each January. People come from all over the country to purchase rare bulbs! :)
