The name of this shrub evades me right now but it smells intoxicating and is loved so much by the bees.
Some young nettles poking through a shady area. I've made nettle soup before - I may pick these and make it again.
This has been the first year my rhubarb has really come on (probably liked all the rainy weather) and I had my first pickings from it a couple of weeks ago. I am hoping that the more I pick it the more productive it will be.
The yellow forsythia always makes me think of Easter time.
A sleepy Gizmo after a busy day in the garden camouflaged by a same colour chair!
Your garden is full of colour Simone, compared to the camouflaged Gizmo! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is mainly green Vivienne what with all the grass but I just focused in on the colourful bits! Gizmo doesn't usually blend in with the chair - it was the evening glow of a lamp that made it look so! :)
DeleteLoved seeing all your garden photos (and Gizmo!), Simone. The bits of color and GREEN cheered me on this snowy/rainy morning. I hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne! I will get round to commenting on your last post but finding it a little bit difficult to articulate right now. I hope you and all your family are well and hope your weather becomes more springlike very soon. :)
DeleteLovely garden pictures! And of course I always love Gizmo pictures as I am a big cat person! He is a beautiful cat. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Bonnie! I am going to try and post more often. :)
DeleteLovely post. I think your shrub (top photo) is a sarcococca or sweet box. Gizmo is gorgeous and looks so cosy on his chair:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie! :)
DeleteMy mum made vegetable lasagne with nettles once. very tasty! I managed to cut the grass yesterday.
ReplyDeleteJulie xxxxxxxx
Now there's an idea Julie! I am glad you managed to cut the grass. I always feel better when I've done it. x
