As well as gardening I have been doing some free online courses with OpenLearn as recommended by my blogging friend Rosie. The one I completed so far was Dutch Painting of the Golden Age - a period in history (17th Century) that fascinates me. I have also been looking at all kinds of copyright free material with Project Gutenberg which is an online library of over 60,000 free e-books - mostly older literary works. It has certainly kept me occupied and entertained!
I haven't yet got around to doing my other creative outlets such as collage, painting, embroidery etc. Hopefully I will allot some time to do so.
Keep well and stay safe!
It sounds like you have stayed quite busy with an interesting variety of activities. I have been to the Project Gutenberg Library and I agree, there is a vast amount of free and worthwhile reading there. I love your lily-of-the-valleys! That is such a sweet and beautiful flower.
ReplyDeleteI like to keep mind and body active Bonnie! My flowers smell beautiful! :)
DeleteIt sounds like you're keeping yourself very busy Simone.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,

I bet you are busy with your crochet animals Vivienne! Happy weekend to you to! x
DeleteYou have been busy Simone. I like the sound of the Dutch Painting course and you have completed it so quickly too. I wonder what you will study next? The Lily of the Valley look lovely in the little vase. I too had an Auntie Gladys, long gone now but she was my favourite aunt. Have a good weekend:)
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie! The course was just 4 hours of study so luckily I didn't lose interest! My Auntie Gladys told me I was her favourite but it turned out later that she told everyone the same thing! Enjoy your weekend - sunny here so far. :)
DeleteWhat a lovely little vase. I know I have some lily of the valley somewhere in the garden - I think the shrubs have grown too big now and are hiding them from view - I must go and seek them out, they do lok lovely displayed in that vase.x
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are in a shady North East sheltered spot in my garden Vivien. They seem to do very well there. Hope you find yours! x

ReplyDeleteYour lily of the valley are lovely. Mine haven't yet bloomed and I'm not sure if they will or not. The plants I have aren't entirely established yet.
ReplyDeleteNot "having anything to show" for your time is perfectly fine. Sometimes the "evidence" of what we do can't be seen.
Enjoy your weekend!
The Lily-of-the-valley come up every year Anne with no nurturing from me at all! I think they prefer a cool, damp, shady spot in a poor soil. I look forward to seeing your garden in the spring when all the shoots are popping up! Have a lovely weekend too. :)
DeleteOff to look at those sites.
ReplyDeleteMust have been a week of not doing much!

Have a look Julie. There may be something to pique your interest. Hope you are well. x
DeleteIt is so many years since I saw any Lilies of the Valley that I can't recall how they smell!
ReplyDeleteThey smell heady and intoxicating! :)
