I'm on track to have completed 8 pieces of artwork before 28 June. My target is to get this done and then review what I have and the next steps I need to take. What I have produced is not perfect but at least it is done. I am fulfilling this part of the exercise.
In the past I have given up when a project hasn't gone to plan. Years have passed when I haven't picked up a paintbrush.
I am beginning to feel happy drawing and painting again. I enjoy creating characters and bringing them to life. Two more to do!
It really shows that you have been enjoying the process. The characters are very appealing.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you and your family are still well?
Hi T.A! It has been a fun distraction to get immersed in making art. My family are very well - thank you for asking. :)
DeleteI love them all! Most importantly I love that you said you were beginning to feel happy drawing and painting again. It appears the schedule you have set for yourself is working!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie. Sometimes I feel so tired and don't feel like doing it but I feel rejuvenated once I make a start! :)
DeleteWell I think you should be very happy with these pieces Simone, they really are good!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat great little characters. :)

Thanks Vivienne! You have always been encouraging! x
DeleteI think your lovely illustrations and characters would make a lovely children's book. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Vivien. That is very kind of you to suggest. x
DeleteOh I love those characters . They are all very different and have a character of their own.
ReplyDeleteJulie xxxxxxxx
Thank you Julie. There is a little bit of me in all of them! x
DeleteYou have set yourself a great challenge, Simone and it is good that you are enjoying both challenge and process of working. Your little characters are delightful:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie. I work better when time pressured and achieve little when I have unlimited time. I just need to keep at it and have another challenge lined up for when this one is completed! x
DeleteWhat fun, Simone! I am so glad you are enjoying your art-making. Keep going. And I'd say, don't worry about evaluating. Just keep having fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouragement Anne! I'd set myself a target of finishing 8 paintings so I just need to figure out what my next goal is! It is surprising how much can be achieved in a limited time frame. :)
DeleteI really like these and painting or any craft is good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the final two.

Thank you Briony. I agree that painting or any craft is good for the soul. I've got one that I am midway through and still have to come up with an eighth! x
DeleteThese paintings are really lovely Simone - have you decided what you'll do with them; will you frame them?
ReplyDeleteI'm also impressed with all of your fruit and vegetable growing. The hard work brings its rewards doesn't it? I plan to have a go in a small way at growing some of my own eventually, but I need to wait a while. At the beginning of the year (before the world went mad) one of my plans post retirement was to have a little bit of work done in my garden, but that is proving a little bit difficult now, so I expect I'll have to plan some growing for next year instead.
Keep going with those lovely paintings xxx
Hi Julia! Thank you for your kind comments. Not sure if I will frame any of the paintings. The fruit and veg growing is going well but take a lot of maintenance! I'd suggest in starting small and just have a window box of veg/fruit/herb/flowers - or whatever takes your fancy. In the mean time you could stock up on fruit and veg catalogues and read up on the plants you want to grow next year. x
DeleteGood advice. I’ll keep an eye out for any useful information. Thanks
