Painting Number Seven

Painting number seven.  Flower girl with butterfly.  Just have to do one more before the end of the week to reach my target.  Still planning what to do next.  Shall I paint a series of landscapes or animals or something else?  Hmm........

I know that I am going to move on to gouache paints from the water colours I am using now and changing paper from textured cold press to smooth hot press.

The paintings I have been doing are much larger than what I am used to.  They have all been on A4 size paper and I am more comfortable painting on a smaller A5 scale.

I am looking forward to exploring more with paints and paper.  It has been most enjoyable so far.

  1. It has been enjoyable to watch you explore with paints and paper! I love the work you do. If you are looking for something to paint I would say paint something that makes you happy! I believe that the amount of passion and happiness an artist has in what they do directly affects the final result. Your joy and passion has certainly shown in this series of paintings.

  3. I know my granddaughter would love these paintings Simone - they are so pretty and each has its own little charming character - I am sure you could write a story around them - I still feel a book is the way to go with them. x

  4. Your flower girl is so pretty and dainty it looks like she is dancing in the air. I wonder what the last painting will be and where your imagination will take you next? Something quite different perhaps. Have a lovely week ahead:)
