A Cold and Frosty Morning Walk

I have been on regular Sunday morning walks with my walking group since last September.  Chatting and walking we cover ground in no time at all totting up an excess of the daily recommended 10,000 steps.  There are six of us in the group, each from different backgrounds and stages in our lives.  Our commonality is our support of each other, humour and love of the Sunday walk.  We never have a session go by where we haven't had a hearty laugh!

We talk about so many diverse things including the health of our family members, how to make kefir at home, the benefits of eating golden linseed, dating apps, dating disasters!, growing vegetables, childhood memories, keeping active etc.,  It feels good to be with a group of like-minded women even if it is only for a couple of hours on a Sunday before we all go back to our 'normal' lives and routines.

One of the reasons I like the group is that it is small.  I feel like I have a voice and I am heard.  Once I have had my Sunday walk I feel ready to face the rest of the day and the upcoming week.  It is great therapy.

  1. That is brilliant Simone...walking in the fresh air is definitely good for body and soul....it was chilly out there today though.

  2. Sounds like a wonderful group of people to go walking with, Simone and because there are only six people you are all able to chat and talk together without anyone feeling left out. It must be good for both mental and physical well being:)

  3. Everything about your Sunday outings is good for you, Simone. I am especially grateful that it gives you time to be who you are without fretting about who you are. Keep those feelings kindled all week long.

  8. There's nothing like a bracing walk on a frosty morning! My mum and I have going on a weekly walk for the last year or so. We've been exploring all her old haunts from when she was a child, it has become something I really enjoy.
I am glad you are feeling heard... we all need that. xx
