Got some amazing effects waxing hand made paper today. The papers have taken on a leathery texture and feel so expensive! I have got a fun project in store for these.
I don't know anything about this process, Simone, and love the way the paper looks waxed. Can you share how you did it? Once again, you've created something unique and fun and lovely with simple materials. I can't wait to try it for myself!
Hi Sharon! I watched a YouTube video for this technique. A brief overview: I used an electric ring burner, bar of beeswax, metal tray, tongs to turn paper and plastic bags to put waxed papers on. The hotplate is heated on its lowest setting. Rub the wax over the tray on the hotplate. When the wax has melted place the paper in to saturate it. Lift out and allow to dry!
