Here you will find gentle sleep stories, peaceful scenes and soothing audio designed to help you unwind and drift off naturally.  Often inspired by nature, night and stillness.  New content will be added over time.

I have changed the name of my YouTube channel from 'My Journey to Become a Professional Artist' (a bit of a mouthful!) to A Creative Life.

An Art Update

 

I've been busy making art all this year.  I joined a local art group which gives me access to art demonstrations and opportunities to visit places with my sketchbook and paints that would normally require an entry fee.  There is also the opportunity to enter into a local art exhibition in the summer.

I have been attending a weekly art group, no tutoring, just a place to go to be with like minded people all working on their own projects.

Fully immersing myself into the whole art experience, visiting galleries, signing up for paid and free online art classes, I have hardly had time to do much else!

When I am waiting for my dinner (cooking in the oven) I jump onto the duo lingo app and learn Japanese.  Every moment of my time seems to be accounted for.  

Today I managed to find the time to upload a YouTube video and update this blog.  The link is below if you want to see some of the art I have been making.

Late Afternoon End of May 2021

 

Bloody Mary Nasturtium

Just popping by to say hi!  This is my first nasturtium flower to come out.  The flowers are supposed to be dark red and rich cream flecked.  I am looking forward to seeing it in full bloom.

 

More Cat Cards

Making the cards has been a good diversion for my state of mind.  I've been a bit low this week with external factors getting to me.  I tend to keep busy in the garden or making food or doing other domestic chores.  I am used to spending long hours alone so it has been a learning curve for me to have two other adults working from home. 

When things return to 'normal' and I get my space back I may feel inclined to do painting again but I need complete quiet to do that.  Card making keeps me occupied and I have something to show for my time! 

Elderflower

The elderflower is at its peak beauty at the moment.  Frothy flower heads illuminating the night garden.

Soon the flowers will be replaced by jewel coloured berries.  The birds will have a feast on them.

On the ground, they resemble wedding confetti - so much preferable to dried rice or paper cut outs.

Mid May Garden

I am still on a blogging break but wanted to record the garden's progress so far this month.  Things of note include the white wisteria which always has more foliage than flowers.

The wild patch has been overtaken with pretty blue borage. EDITED:  Thanks to Toffeeapple's observation I now know that this is not borage and is in fact pentaglottis sempervirens otherwise known as bugloss or alkanet. 

The strawberry patch is covered in white flowers with little berries beginning to form in the centres.
