When you have to satisfy different tastes what can you do? I made a batch of vanilla sponge cake and gave them different toppings. First up is the fresh lemon fondant with sugar flowers for those of a delicate nature.
Next up is the robust coffee fondant icing with chocolate buttons. Which do you prefer?
Fresh lemon delicate iced cakes or...................................

Or would you like to sample one of each? I think that is my preferred option. Have a great weekend with lots of tea and/or coffee sipped from a delicate bone china cup or a big chunky workman's mug. Whatever your preference may be, have a good one! x
I reckon I'd go for the delicate lemon flavour in the mid-morning and the coffee for the mid-afternoon munchines. In fact, round about now!
ReplyDeleteMmm - one of each of those, please - they look lovely - hope you have a good weekend too:)
ReplyDelete..I'm on a diet, but I'll do a little effort just for you and I'll sample one of each, please!
ReplyDeletexxx
definitely one of each. they both look soooo mouth-wateringly scrumptious :o)
ReplyDeletei having been singing the praises of your cake bake on my blog today, trying to round up some more baking troops as well as mark myself down as a fully fledged friday baker.
have a lovely weekend xxx

Oh my gosh, Simone!! I couldn't POSSIBLY make up my mind on this one! I simply would HAVE to try BOTH! ~tina
ReplyDeleteWell obviously it would only be fair to try one of each for a proper comparison ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor me it will have to be the Lemon Iced cakes. I'm a bit like the Marmite ad with COFFEE you either love it or hate it and I'm afraid I just HATE coffee!
ReplyDeletei am afraid i don't do coffee in any form so i am hoping that there will be some vanilla and lemon ones left... can't get over till the morning but hope you will save me one!... oh i wish...
ReplyDeletea happy weekend to you x
A big mug for me. It's great how you have shown comparisons here. Two completely different cakes, each made out of the same mix. A big mug for me; I love delicate china, but for display only! This is where my preferences end. If you put a plate of each of these little cakes in front of me, I would have to have both! x
ReplyDeleteA nice bone china cup and saucer and a matching plate with one of each flavour please! You have inspired me, must go and put the oven on!
ReplyDeleteI'll try three of each please! Oink! Seriously, Simone, these look better than what a bakery makes. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog when I hit "Next Blog". Caught the wonderful looking Friday Cake Bake and decided to read on. Then I came across your Birthday post. Happy 2nd Blog Birthday! This year is the year to really stretch things, you know, the terrible twos? Which really aren't terrible, just the age to really stretch your possiblities. I am intrigued with the Bonne Maman jam jars. Are they unique to the UK?
ReplyDeleteHello anonymous! Bonne Maman is a French brand of jam that we can buy in the UK. I don't know what other countries sell it but I would think that it is widely available in europe. Thanks for your interest and comment too.
ReplyDeleteDo you know, every time I visit your blog i get all hungry!
ReplyDeleteI think to be perfectly honest that I would have two of each...a little greedy i know, but hey ho, hope you don't mind. Both look absolutley scrumdiddlyumptious :o)
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I think I would go for the lemon too , but then again hmmmm
ReplyDeleteI'll have one of each please....oh how greedy but they both look delicious.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Oooh that's a tricky one. I'd settle for the recipe - I don't really cook, but they look so delicious I'd like to try making these x
