Simone's Tuesday Garden Rake No. 2

The Camellia in the garden is blooming.

Insects are getting busy in the borage.

My 'Compassion' climbing rose is coming into leaf.

The pear tree is coming to life!

Heather is in flower.

The rhubarb is just returning after its slumber.

Young nettles ready for making into soup!

Neglected areas that need clearing up and clearing out.

A view down the garden. The sheets are blowing gently in the breeze.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my garden today. How is yours growing?

  1. Love your photos!

My garden just got rid of the last snow, but the seeds I planted the other day are beginning to come up (not the tomatoes though, but some of the flower seeds). I´m looking forward to more warmth and sun! :-)

  9. Sumea, you are more than welcome to be in the Tuesday gardening club! It is an inclusive club and everybody is welcome! You don't even have to have a garden. A window box or a jar of sprouting alfalfa seeds would suffice!!! x

  16. Hello Julie! I looked up about yellowing Camellia leaves on bbc.co.uk/lancashire website and a man called Bill Blackledge gives the following advice: 'Lime chlorosis. Too much lime in the soil blocking the uptake of iron which turns the leaf yellow. Feed it with an ericaceous/acid fertiliser and apply a dressing of ferrous sulphate fertiliser to replenish the iron.' I hope this helps!

  19. I love your garden pics. Your camellia is beautiful. I had to move mine from an old sink half-sunk into the middle of our tiny garden. I put it into a very large pot but it seems to be refusing to flower this year. Fingers crossed for next!

What a very happy looking cat - he really seems to enjoy life! Juliex

  24. Although I love the pictures of your garden and enjoyed reading your blog, I am LOVING the amazing baked goods. Why isn't anyone talking about that? They are in your face mouthwatering and wonderful. You are indeed Martha Stewart-ish (which is a compliment).Your blog had me hooked at 'marzipan', oh and also; Simnel, cupcakes, shortbread...I will check back often as I don't see a 'follow' button. Cheers! devon

  25. Let's just say that any photos taken in my garden would need to be extermely close cropped! It's a bit of a jungle out there.

  26. Just found your blog- I feel so inspired now- your garden looks lovely can I virtually share it with you until we move into the cottage and I get my own again? The cakes all look too good I have to go bake something...

  27. I want that patch of rhubarb, and that ladybird. I hardly ever get to see any around my garden. Forget the nettle soup! Leave those lovely nettles, the Comma butterfly will eat, and lay eggs on them. Thanks for visiting me on this blog Simone, I shall be over here for some time! Who knows I may even be able to get organised to join in with your Tuesday Rake? Gizmo looks a little sad, you haven't taken that basket away from him, have you?
