A Garden of Delights

The May garden is looking beautiful.  The strawberries are ripening.

The Peony is in full bloom.  Look at the size of the flower head to my hand!

Baby pears adorn the pear tree.

The compassion rose climbs up to reach the cornflower blue sky.

The most beautiful rose of all.  She hides at the back of the garden in the shade, next to the raspberry canes.  The whitest and purest looking rose.  I love her for her simple beauty and delicate fragrance.

p.s I have put a couple of questions at the top of my blog on the right hand side.  It will be interesting to see the outcome!  Have a lovely weekend. x

  6. Can't believe you have strawberries ripening already!
The compassion rose against the blue sky is just fantastic - beautiful photo.
The size of the paeony is amazing too.
Thnaks for your comment - the honesty is such a brilliant pure green, the photo doesnt really do it justice because of the light, and the jug is large so the whole arrangement is quite big!
Thanks for the good luck wishes to Bella!

  10. Simone,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. You lavish love on your garden and it returns tenfold. And now each of us is blessed by it as well. Will think of your sweet corner of England as I toil in my rough corner of Wisconsin. Happy weekend to you.

  11. What super photos, Simone. Strawberries, roses and peonies all make me think of June rather than May but then everything is so far forward this year because of April's warmth. I love the peony and those stawberries look wonderful:)

  14. Oh Simone, your garden looks gorgeous, you lucky thing! I have only just got my first rose coming out and my strawberries are tiny and green. I love that white rose it's just perfection and the peony the best I have ever seen! It's cold, grey and once again wet here today, I definately want to live where you live, could we swap?:-)

I also have two cats but I site my nestboxes where they can't get at them, high up on the house wall etc. so far we have had successful broods for the last 3 years so it can be done if you did fancy putting one up.x

  17. Wow, Simone. Your garden looks amazing. So much beauty. And those strawberries... We have hundreds of strawberry plants growing in our meadows in among goldenrod and queen anne's lace but ours only just started to flower. With all our wildlife, there will be a competition when the fruit is ripe. We just planted our baby pear trees; I don't know how long we'll have to wait till they start fruiting. How old is your tree? Do you know what variety of rose that lovely white one of yours is? I hope you continue to share the loveliness of you garden through the season.

  19. I fall in love with so many roses, for different reasons. Now I've fallen in love with your white one. I wish I had the chance to create a rose garden. One day perhaps...
