Home Sweet Home
I have noticed that not many people are posting in blog land recently so I thought I would do an additional post this week. The very home sweet home above is not my home but as it looked so lovely I thought I would share it with you. The porch is on the side of the house which is a semi-detached cottage. The front of the house has candy striped blinds and floral Cath kidston curtains. The pretty window boxes are full of silvery leaved plants. Someone creative lives here as the upstairs rooms have pots of paintbrushes and pencils in front of the window. I didn't take any more photos of the house as I didn't want to be too intrusive. I love all the attention to detail: the bows on the lanterns, the willow heart and the floral curtains. I had a spring in my step after seeing such a pretty house. I am inspired to make mine just as pretty!

I always get inspired when I see a pretty house or garden.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a lovely place? No wonder you had a spring in your step. I like the ribbons on the ends of the hanging basket hooks and the sign that says 'be nice or go away'.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet little house, Simone! It looks like a doll's house. I'm so glad you posted this picture, thank you!

What a lovely porch .... I love that shade of green.

That is so lovely. That green is exactly what I want in my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is very pretty - I love the green and the pretty curtains:)
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty, and the porch itself reminds me of a dolls house. x
ReplyDeletePS. I'm always very hesitant to take photos of peoples' houses.
I want to live there!

I hadn't noticed the "be nice or go away" sign, had to zoom in to look, good message though. I like the little stencilled flowers on the top right corner. It does look a nice orderly and cared for house, mine is currently covered in crafting paraphanelia and don't even mention the housework (or lack of).
ReplyDeleteThank you Simone for your comment on my blog. My favourite owl is the same as yours and it was the last one I did. I was going to ask £4.50 for them so I was glad to see that was in line with your thinking too. If I was paying myself the minimum wage for making them and accounting for the hourts and materials used they would cost at least £20, so they are a bargain really, though whether Joe Bloggs agrees we'll need to see...
I have nothing worth sharing on my blog at the moment...all work makes for a very dull blog!
ReplyDeleteBut this little porch is a delight, thanks for sharing it.

Hi Simone, I'm sorry I've not visited for a while, but I'm glad to have caught up with your blog today.
ReplyDeleteThis little house is a delight and I feel inspired to pretty mine up a bit now :D
I can so sympathise with your earlier post about earning money from crafts. Having spent the best part of this year trying to generate an income in the absence of any other jobs, I'm feeling rather despondent about it all myself!!! I'm keeping an open mind and trying other things, like going back to my healing practices.
Take care.xxx
Thank you for sharing Simone, it really is gorgeous and very inspiring. Just a few touches have made it such a welcoming place.
