Things I Enjoy

Today, I thought I would focus on the things that I enjoy in my life.  First off,  I couldn't think of anything and then I started to remember the things that inspire me and the things I love to do.  I began to write a list.  I have not done many of these pleasurable things for a long time and I think it is time to revisit some of them again.

 Things I enjoy

Anything  to do with body, mind and spirit

I am inspired by cats

Nature, plants and botanicals

Days out in the countryside

Bustling, vibrant cities

Market Towns

Farmer’s Markets

Eating healthily

Growing herbs

Walking

I am an alchemist!  I like to make soap, soup, bake bread and pastries and cake, jams and jellies

Learning new crafts

Natural fabrics and fibres

Good quality paper, watercolour paper and handmade paper

Making cross-stitch samplers

Reading

Writing

Taking photos

Blogging

Reading blogs

Philosophy

Paganism and Green Magic

In addition to this there are so many new things I want to try and do including:

Wood Carving

Lino cutting and printing

Bookbinding

Crochet with alpaca yarn

Celebrate the seasons more

Learn to spin and dye yarn

As you can see, I am not short of finding enjoyable things to occupy my time.  Next time I am in the wilderness of apathy, I will revisit this list and see what I can tick off from it.  Do you have a list of things you enjoy to do?

  1. I am glad you are feeling a little more positive and able to think of enjoyable things. Though I haven't actually sat down and written such a list my list might be quite similar to yours I suspect. I have done spinning and dyeing using natural dyes so I wish I lived nearer to you as I could help you with that one on your new things to try list!

That's quite a list, it should keep you busy for a while.
One thing that stood out for me on your list is baking, we need to see some more of your baking Simone!!

  8. I wonderful list, Simone. Spend time doing what you enjoy. I know it's hard to do. Time has a way of getting away from me and being eaten up by other things, but if we try to be conscious of making time to do what we enjoy we'll be able to fit more into the days. Or so I'm hoping!

  13. What a good idea to spend some writing down things you like to do. I have many things I enjoy that I haven't done for some time also. Let's give ourselves more time to spend on pleasant pastimes! We deserve it, right?
