Hoar Frost

I am reliably informed that the frost up at the vineyard yesterday was a hoar frost.  A hoar frost is frozen dew that has formed on vegetation (or objects) that have been chilled below freezing.  Although spiky to look at, the frost was in fact very soft!

My 'slow walk' to Christmas is gradually gaining pace but I am determined not to panic about what I may or may not have done.  I am off to have a cup of coffee, ponder over some shortbread ideas I have in mind to make and take a deep breath.  All is good.
