One of Those Days

I was unable to get dressed first thing this morning due to clothes needing to be ironed.  The iron had something sticky on the sole plate so I rushed to the Internet to find out how to remove it.  Ten minutes later using an old toothbrush and some bicarbonate of soda/water solution, it looked a little better.  I tried the iron out again and managed to burn my new ironing board cover.  Went upstairs to order new iron on the Internet and get dressed in a pair of uncomfortable tight jeans with split in the seam and heavy top that didn't need to be ironed.  Will need to buy a new ironing board cover in the shops tomorrow and look for new pair of jeans.

Feeling uncomfortably warm in my attire I dashed up to the local shops to buy some milk and a newspaper.  The large bottles of milk were squashed in so I had to buy a smaller more expensive bottle. The newspaper didn't have its magazine included so I went through the pile of papers and couldn't find any at all.  After getting exasperated with the unhelpful shop assistant who had no clue where the magazines were, I went to the self checkout in a bit of a strop proclaiming that I would buy the newspaper elsewhere.

Starting the morning off on the wrong foot has really messed up my day.  I want to do something crafty but know that I am not really in the right frame of mind.  I am feeling tired and clumsy today.  In fact, it is just one of those days.

  2. I almost never iron anything, life's too short! Just hanging things up neatly when drying seems to sort out most creases.

  3. Sounds like your day got off to a bad start, Simone. There's nothing worse than having to go out in clothes you feel uncomfortable wearing. It sounds like a day to just relax perhaps sit and read and plan what you want to do with your crafting. Tommorow is another day and I hope a better one for you:)

  4. Irritating things, yet, trivial. We mustn't forget however, that there are always worse things that can happen. I hope today is a better day for you Simone!Keep on smiling!

  5. September and a new month as well as a new day! Let's hope that yesterday is but a distant memory at which you can laugh and see the funny side of and that today will be a much better one for you. I have an old wooden ironing board so have never needed to buy a cover for mine as when it gets scorched or worn I just rip it off and nail a new one (old sheets I save for the purpose) over the top of the pieces of blanket which form the padding. Hope you find some new jeans to fit and also get your ironing dealt with!! We didn't manage to get a paper at all yesterday was we went to London for the day and Smiths had sold out by the time we got to the station for the train home so we don't have the TV and radio supplement this week!

  7. Wish I had read this on the day you wrote it! I could have told you that I have MANY days that start off like that! But later I have to chuckle at the ridiculousness of how many things can happen right in a row! I hope your days since than have started off better! xx
