All Change

Nature dictates when it is time for a change.  In the garden vibrant flowers have been replaced with woodland fruits.  Boughs of  the apple tree are burdened with rotting fruit that I failed to pick.  The air is dank and sickly sweet and windfalls cover the ground.

Soon I will put the lawn mower away and leave the earth to rest until the following spring, but for now there is much clearing up to be done in the garden.  It is time to sweep away the remnants of summer and to celebrate what is to come.

  1. Oh I agree Simone, so much to do in the garden, just didn't bargain on it being so chilly so soon, it's hard to get out there!

  2. I'm enjoying being out in the spring garden, seeing everything come to life.

  3. Τhe same here, Simone.Although there are still warm days where I still go at the sea for a swim. Everyday I try to find some time to sow some seeds for the winter (mainly greens, such as rocket) and lettuce, but I'm so busy that I will probably starve, if I don't soon!

  4. It is that time when the garden needs tidying up and summer things stored away - I'm sure I'll get out there soon if and when it stops raining:)

  5. Hi Simone I am already putting together my Autumn wardrobe, looking out those warming soup and casserole recipes and drawing the curtains earlier. Our garden too is starting to change colour now and is ready for a final tidy up. When I look out of my windows I can see a yellow tinge on the trees and although I do like Autumn I will certainly miss this summer. x

  6. As much as I am sad to leave summer behind, I am also excited about the coming of fall. So many delights.

    Love your mushroom pic.

I hope you are feeling much better. Colds are one of the things about the changing seasons that I definitely do not like.

    Wishing you beautiful days!
