Savoury Muffins



Three posts in three days!  I am on a roll!  Yesterday I made these tasty cheese, spring onion and courgette muffins and adapted the recipe slightly from this book here.  I can't recommend this book enough.  It has really sparked my imagination and I have made many of the items within.  It is not just a book that looks good on the coffee table, it is one that you will use again and again.

One of the things I have yet to make is the flavoured sugars using perlagonium leaves, and in anticipation of doing this, I have already put in my order for some scented leaf perlagoniums including ones that smell of roses, lemon, apple mint and peach!  They won't arrive until April but I am so excited about receiving them.

The weather has returned true to type here now (grey and raining and blowing a gale!) but surprisingly I am in an upbeat frame of mind.  It must be the burst of sunshine we got yesterday or perhaps the prospect of receiving exciting goodies in the post.  Have a lovely Tuesday! x

  2. I have had that book from the library - it was certainly very interesting. Your muffins look delicious and I love the sound of scented sugars especially the geranium ones although lavender is also good I believe and I once made peach and lavender jam (when we lived in France and had peach trees) and that was good. Glad your mojo is back.

  5. Mmmmm these look so yummy! I love the idea of scented sugars....I have used lavender sugar and loved it. Just catching up with your posts......how gorgeous the soap looks, Simone.

  7. Your savoury muffins look very tasty! I have a scented geranium - Attar of Roses - but have never used it in cooking or baking. I once saw Sophie Grigson make a cake using the leaves in the bottom of the tin but I like the idea of flavouring sugars with them. I hope you enjoy all your plants when they arrive:)

  10. Just catching up with my reading. You have been busy. How is the soap you made, it looked beautiful.
    I shall have to visit the blog you recommend and as for those flowers you have ordered they sound absolutely gorgeous with the different scented leaves.
