Serenity - Hah!

I think that I was probably a bit too quick to come up with a word to live the year by.  As you may recall my word of choice was serenity and so far this year has been far from serene.  In that respect the word was a good choice because I am having to come up with outlets to help me achieve serenity and my newly rekindled love for Zentangle is helping me do just that.

I am still finding it hard to come to terms with what happened to Gizmo and am thankful that he is still with us.  I really must stop worrying about external factors that I cannot control and accept that these things are part of life and part of maturing and evolving as a person.


I took this photo of Gizmo yesterday.  It looks like a chunk of his right side is missing but it only looks so bad because his fur has been cut away.  Today he's been purring and trying to play a little bit.  He is eating and drinking well so they are both good signs.

    I am glad he is showing signs of getting better, his fur will grow back too, then he will be your old Gizmo

    It's a very good sign that Gizmo is eating and drinking. He looks quite bright from the photo - he's lost a lot of fur but it will grow back again quite quickly. It is hard to remain calm and serene faced with such circumstances but serenity will be waiting for you as soon as Gizmo is well again:)

    I'm so pleased for you that Gizmo is a little brighter. Poor chap, he must have had a miserable time until you discovered his wound. I'm sure he'll heal quickly now under your care, and the wound will soon be covered with new fur. Take care, both of you!

    Hurray for Gizmo! You just can't keep a good man down. Especially one that has such a good woman behind him!
    Got to love those purrs.
    Happy to hear zentangles are coming to the rescue. Lately I've found them soothing, too. Would you please post some of yours??
    Keep your word close, Simone. It can serve as your mantra for the year and help to bring that state of being closer each day.

    Just catching up here....poor Gizmo, what a brave kitty! So glad he is recovering now and able to eat, drink and purr, that is good news. Hope you both have a much nicer week this week, Simone.
