Did You Guess Correctly?

I made myself a dinky little pincushion from the fabric and curtain ring in the previous post.  It was such a fun project and I may write up a tutorial for it if I get requests to do so.  I think it would sell well at craft fairs (if you get the right kind of fair!)

Today I have one of my monkey mind days.  Should I embark on some machine sewing, or do some fabric printing or a follow a further painting lesson in my Carrie Schmitt  book, or even take another look at the felt animals and see if I can get around the problems I was having making them?

For now I think I will take a deep breath, have some breakfast and see how the mood takes me afterwards.  Do you have any advice on how to tame a monkey mind or resist jumping from one project to another?  Sometimes I feel quite exhausted!

Have a great day!

  1. Well I was wrong, but it's a lovely pincushion. As for what to do today, go with the one that keeps on speaking to you!

I have a day off today to 'doggie sit' my aunt's dog, Rosie. I was planning a day sewing, but so far, she's a bit clingy! Hopefully, she'll settle soon and allow me to get on with my latest bear. But what a lovely day to have off, so I expect I shall have to go out for 'walkies' too:0)

  2. I'd love a copy of the pin cushion.........

Go with the flow is my motto! Go with what keeps coming to the fore of your mind because if you do something else you can guarantee it will go wrong

  3. Is the ring made into the base? If so, how big is the ring?

  4. Awe your little pin cushion is so pretty Simone and yes the recipe would be good, always nice to learn new things, which is why I don't see a problem with a monkey mind!

  6. I most definitely would
like a tutorial, Simone. This is the cutest pin cushion I've seen in a long while.
Monkey mind feels like a symptom of being out of sorts, out of rhythm with myself. Sometimes it's just a necessary bridge to creativity. Let is ride for now and see where it leads…
It's finally spring here in America's dairyland. There's no place on earth quite like this when the April gods are smiling…. hope you feel it too.
