Knowing When to Stop Making for the Craft Fair

I am having a bit of a crisis of confidence.  I am panicking that I won't have enough of anything for the craft fair so I am looking for quick and easy makes.  I think this is probably unwise.   The bracelet above was made from a kit.  I am quite pleased how it turned out (it matches the necklace in a previous post) but the jump rings do not close perfectly. I pay a lot of  attention to detail and things like this really annoy me and so the bracelet may not make the fair.

I found a great tutorial on YouTube about craft fair makes that showed how to turn paper clips into something more interesting by adding pom poms.  I had the materials handy so I had a go.  When I showed my son he said they look like they come from Pound Land!  He has a point.  I don't suppose these will be coming to the event either!

I like these.  I think there will always be room for tiny cards.

  1. Love those cards. I always used to panic I never had enough, but then once its all out on the space you are given there was always plenty. You could always add a little decotated Christmas tree. If I did a spring fair I always put a vase of daffodils on my table.

  2. I love your tiny cards too Simone.
Please don't panic, I think you're doing well and attention to detail will always be a winner.

  3. I have no good advice about when enough is enough for a market, but can you bring too much?
The bracelet is lovely, and it will go wonderfully with the necklace you made earlier on. I also like the cards :-) As for the paper clips, why not bring them along. Bring some books too, and show how they can be used as bookmarks ... after all people reads a lot in the Christmas break and books are often received as gifts :-)

  4. I love your tiny cards, Simone, and the bracelet is so pretty! I always have trouble closing jump rings!! The little paper clips could be cute, arranged in a basket. I think it's nice to have a variety of things nicely arranged and clearly priced. You will do well! xx

  5. I#d take the paperclips, may be just the thing for a stocking filler and people do love stationery items.

  6. I find it helpful to have a dummy run on a similar size table... you can only fill up the space your given...then relax!xx

  7. Take the paperclips along and try a few at time, see what happens. The bracelet looks lovely and the cards are great too:)

  8. Make (and bring) what you love. It's good to have a variety of things at a variety of price points, but you never know what people will want and buy until you're there.

Most importantly, relax and have fun!!

I'm so glad you've been on a creative roll, Simone!!
