The Owl and the Pussy Cat

Owls and pussy cats make the sweetest tags!  Do you prefer the owl or the pussy cat?

Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my 1000th post!  It was lovely to know that some of my 'old' readers are still reading!  I allocated each name on the comments list a number from 1 to 12 (not including those who are already receiving a little paper crafted 'something' and used a random number generator.  The lucky number was seven which was Lisa's number!  Congratulations Lisa.  I will email you.  Rosie, Judy and Julia I will put something in the post to you next week.

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead.

Lovely Things from Blogging Friends

I have been fortunate to either win or buy lots of lovely things from bloggers over the years.  I have featured just a few of them above (which were in easy reach).  The latest gift received was from Ann - a lovingly made wooden heart with pyrographic detail that remains in its glassine envelope because I love glassine envelopes so much!  She has some pretty crocheted daffodil brooches on her blog at the moment which she is selling to raise money for the Marie Curie charity.  Please do go and have a look here.  She makes beautiful things.

Now on to the mini celebration kit giveaway.  I cut out equal sized pieces of paper and wrote down each name of the readers that wanted to participate.  I folded the papers over twice and then threw them over my left shoulder.  I had predetermined that the one fallen closest to me would be the winner........and the winner is.........magsmcc.

Magsmcc, would you please forward your address details to me at simone.lindengrove@gmail.com and I will get your prize posted off to you.  Thank you to everyone that participated and letting me know what you enjoyed about reading my blog

The Winner's Grumpy Fairy

The winner has now received her grumpy fairy (shown above) and I hope it will make her happy!  I have been busy making more bracelets and some pendants and should be ready to stock my shop again in a few days time.

We Have a Winner!

Thank you for all the lovely comments about the grumpy fairies.  I know they are not to everyones taste but grumpy fairies are so more exclusive than the ones that just want to preen and look pretty!

I wrote down the names of everyone that commented on the giveaway post and if you commented on the following post I wrote your name down again.  I screwed the pieces of paper into tiny balls and placed them in a small box.  My intention was to throw the contents of the box up into the air and catch one by hand.  Unfortunately I didn't catch any (was never any good at catching games) but just one piece of paper landed back in the box.  The name on that paper was TOFFEEAPPLE, such an apt name for this time of year!  So Toffeeapple if you would like to email me with your details and colour preferences for your fairy I will get one made up and pop in the post to you.

Bouquet

A bouquet with roses and freesias. Summer in a vase. What could be lovelier? Today is bitterly cold and gloomy once more, my spirits are low but I am thinking ahead to brighter and better days.

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to receive the Linden Grove Newsletter.  I hope you have received them?  If you have then you would have known that I was going to be doing a giveaway and that if you put a smiley face :-) at the end of the post I would enter you twice!

I wrote all the names down and before I drew out the winning name from my spotty Laura Ashley mug I said a little mantra to myself to guide me to the chosen winner...................................who was Rosie!  I will be in touch Rosie to find out what you would like as your gift.

I will leave you with a little quote to ponder on;

"No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn."
-  Hal Borland

*If you have subscribed to the newsletter and haven't received it yet could you please let me know?.  If you have received it could you let me know also?   There seems to be some 'teething' troubles in getting the newsletter out to you which will hopefully get sorted.
