There is no picture today. Just words. Today I am thankful for having my
basic human needs fulfilled. I have a
roof over my head, warm
clothes, food, heating, lighting and I know that I am
loved. I never take these things for granted and
I never want to forget how lucky I am.
We always forget how lucky we are for having these "expected" things!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking today, listening to the wind and rain outside, how awful it must be to be homeless and living on the streets and of how lucky I am to have heat, light, food and a roof over my head and to have family and friends who care - this is a lovely post, Simone:)
ReplyDeletePerfectly put.
ReplyDeleteVery well said Simone...there are many that don't have those things.
ReplyDelete;-)
So true. But it is the Love that surrounds us that is most important...can have everything we 'need' but if we have no love to share we have nothing worth living for!

That is a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteLovely. See the basic needs are something we can be truly thankful for.

I totally agree with your post. We should be grateful for the simple things. Sometime I forget x
ReplyDeleteNever truer words spoken, even though we do have to remind ourselves when many others around us appear to have so much more besides the basics - I have to remind myself every month when I'm trying to finely balance my finances:0)
ReplyDeleteYou're very right Simone xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely Simone. We all forget at times just how well off we really are. It takes a reminder like this to bring it home to us. x
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right.. I do thank my lucky stars that I have a warm bed to climb in to every night especially when I think of all the homeless who have to survive on so little in these winter months.

I hear you and I so agree with you, Simone!
ReplyDeleteSimone, the things you are thankful for reveal a lot about you and what a lovely person you are.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.

ditto simone... i also feel so lucky and am also so aware that others are often not so fortunate... i have just been to the dentist where i picked up a leaflet on dental aid. although we often dislike going to the dentist we are so fortunate to have access to one as most folk don't. In poor countries there are few dentists and little equipment. People resort to makeshift equipment and risk getting septicemia and dying... i was shocked at what i read.
ReplyDeletewe must never forget those who are less fortunate.
