Pussycat, Pussycat, Where Have You Been?

Gizmo didn't come home on Thursday night.

I was worried as we have a lot of foxes in our neighbourhood and the one above had been hanging around my house all night.

Thursday had been a gloriously sunny day.

Even the weeds looked cheerful.

The wild flowers were wild with happiness!

Gizmo had been happy too.

He had a bit of a joy ride in an old toy car.

He closed his eyes and dreamed of being a teenage rebel.

Naughty, naughty Gizmo. He did not return home until the next day, until I had printed off MISSING posters and shed a tear and trekked around the local area at 6.00am.

He was none the worse for his nighttime jaunt just very subdued and sleepy.

He made himself a comfortable 'nest' beneath the trees in a woody area of the garden .

He pulled a funny face. 'Look Mum! See how far I can put my head back!'

Typical teenager. Partying all night. Sleeping all day. It is so good to have him back.

  9. So glad he's back safe and sound. Our Charlie (who is probably about 2) has been out all night a couple of times since the weather warmed up and it really worries me. Then, just like Gizmo, he sleeps and looks cute all next day day while he recovers! Juliex

  13. Oh my goodness I'm so pleased he came home. Been through this with many cats and it's such a horrible feeling. You know you can't really do anything but you don't want to sit and do nothing either. They don't realise what they put us through!!

PS Made one of your Friday bakes this weekend, the Cherry and Sultana cake - BIG thumbs up!!

  14. - I've been to London to see the Queen, silly! Those are great images of Gizmo. I love how cats make nests, somewhere they can snuggle up all warm. Like any son, they know when to come home for a good meal! - I am so pleased this (tail) had a happy outcome Simone. x

  21. So happy Gizmo came back, Simone. Such a sweet-faced kitty. I almost cried myself to death two years ago when Weegirl, who is an indoor cat and quite old, slipped outside and was missing for eight days. Luckily she was returned. So...my goodness, our animals sure have our whole hearts don't they?

  22. Cats are wonderful at doing that aren't they ~ I mean scaring the living daylights out of you like that! My sisters cat used to do Houdini impressions every now and then, fortunately he always returned but not before much fretting and worry!

    Glad he's safe

  24. oh i so love Gizmo, what a character he is!! i think he is fully aware he has a fan club and knows how to work it as a cat model, you want to watch that he doesn't ask for a fee soon ;o)
it's lovely to be back here simone, i am a little late catching up with the action, but glad i didn't miss it altogether.
marley-bobbit takes himself off wandering sometimes and worries the life out of his poor mum. he once even escaped from the vet when semi-sedated and fled across a dangerous road, it was quite terrifying - the vet didn't know what to say to us. eventualy after scambling through several gardens (the vet is in the town) twinkle found him hiding a a hedge.
