Just recently I have discovered two lovely new blogs through an established blogging friend Judy Hartman at Hartfelt Fabric Art. They are Anne from My Giant Strawberry and Sharon from sallymomsprouts. They are a mum and daughter team who have moved to rural Wisconsin to start up a farm. I am so excited to follow their journey, They are both intelligent and inspiring women and if you like similar things to me, I am sure you will enjoy their blogs, and of course Judy's too if you haven't already visited her.
It was while looking at Sharon's blog that I found Blog Zentangle listed in her side bar. From what I understand, zentangle is a form of meditative doodling, creating images from repetitive patterns. The image at the top of the post is my first attempt at having a go. I am completely hooked and can't wait to do my next one! If you want to find out more about it visit Zentangle. It really is addictive!
Interesting Simone, will pop over to take a peek.

When I doodle it's always snails! x
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun! :) I know when I'm doing a crossword or suduko and get bored with it the newspaper is covered in doodles, always hearts and flowers and stars though!

Thanks for the links, I'll have a look at those blogs. I was interested to hear about the doodling - when I doodle I always do hearts!! I've never done the meditative type of doodling - will have to try it! Helen x
ReplyDeleteYour Zentangle is beautiful! I'm going to have to try it, too. I've been wanting to for a while.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the mention on your post today!
:)
Thanks so much for linking to my blog, Simone!
ReplyDeleteWhen I doodle, it is usually ovals and rectangles! Funny how each person has her own doodling style!!
I love it Simone. Great shapes which really work in the black ink. Will pop over to those blogs a bit later x
ReplyDeleteI doodle flowers! Looks great fun I must have a go! I'll go and look at the links

What a beautiful doodle, Simone, thank you for sharing it with us. I shall certainly be checking out the links when I get the chance (my internet usage is a bit haphazard lately!)
ReplyDeleteAnd your dream in your last post was beautiful... here's hoping it comes true one day xx
Simone,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words about my blog. Your zentangle is beautiful. I absolutely fell in love with the process when I stumbled upon it reading a quilting magazine. A featured quilter, Pat Ferguson, is using zentangles done with thread on her quilts. I thought trying zentangles would be fun with my sewing machine and freemotion quilt practice, but even more fun in pen and ink designs. Glad I thought to add the blog to my list!

What a gorgeous zentangle you have made. I'd never heard of it before! I can't draw at all - if I'm on the phone and 'doodling' I draw childlike houses with trees, stickmen or just loads of oval rings:)
ReplyDeleteDidn't Jung draw a circle every morning and doodle in it to release the subconscious? I like this a lot!
