A New Blog

Hi everyone!  Just popping by to let you know that I am starting a new blog over here.  I will be keeping this blog for my general ponderings but my new blog will concentrate on one of my many hobbies.  There is just the introductory post on it so far and I need to tweak the settings, template etc.  Please pop over and say hi even if you are not interested in making jewellery.  It would be nice to keep my old friends on board!

Gardening Blog

Just a quickie to let you know that I am starting a new gardening blog called Sybils Plot.  It only has one post so far but I hope to rectify that very soon.  As much as I love my Linden Grove blog I am so fed up with not being able to use it properly.  I can't log in unless I visit a blogger user site that has 'sign in' at the top. I don't understand about RSS feed or why people are unable to leave comments from time to time.  I decided to use an old tried and tested format for my new blog.

Sybils Plot is all about gardening and Linden Grove will stay as a general blog covering various topics.  Please do come and say hello at my new site which is, incidentally, named after my late maternal grandmother.  She would have been 'tickled pink' to think I had named a blog after her!

Mediterranean Flavour

Having a good blog hop on Monday I discovered an inspirational blog called Ferns at the Balcony.  I was transported to the Greek olive groves and was fascinated to read about the olive harvest whilst the snow here had chilled me to the bone.

Needing to satiate my palette with some good, wholesome Mediterranean food I gathered together the ingredients and made the Greek cake Fanouropita from the warmth of my kitchen.  I had to improvise as I didn't have vostizza currants and had to substitute brandy with Calvados but the end result was quick, easy and tasty..

Today Rose Fern has another delicious recipe on her blog, one I will be making over the coming week, no doubt.  Please go and visit this delightful blog.  It will lift your spirits especially if you look back at some of her older posts too of blue sky and golden beaches.  She currently has a giveaway to win a small bottle of her freshly harvested olive oil.  Be lucky!

Pootling with Paper

Little Lamb Lost

I have been feeling very much like a little lamb lost recently.  I am unable to focus on anything properly.  I am used to having lots of energy and moving about quickly, but at the moment I am on a go slow.  I have decided to spend a lot more time with my paper and pencils and explore creativity at a much more leisurely pace.  I have set up a different blog specifically for this purpose although my Linden Grove blog will continue as usual.  My new blog is called Pootling with Paper.  I would love for you to come and visit me there from time to time.

New Discoveries

Just recently I have discovered two lovely new blogs through an established blogging friend Judy Hartman at Hartfelt Fabric Art.  They are Anne from My Giant Strawberry and Sharon from sallymomsprouts.  They are a mum and daughter team who have moved to rural Wisconsin to start up a farm.  I am so excited to follow their journey,  They are both intelligent and inspiring women and if you like similar things to me, I am sure you will enjoy their blogs, and of course Judy's too if you haven't already visited her.

It was while looking at Sharon's blog that I found Blog Zentangle listed in her side bar.  From what I understand, zentangle is a form of meditative doodling, creating images from repetitive patterns.  The image at the top of the post is my first attempt at having a go.  I am completely hooked and can't wait to do my next one!  If you want to find out more about it visit Zentangle.  It really is addictive!

Mutant Trees Blog Update

I have just updated my Mutant Trees blog with a new post for those of you who have been following my 'artistic pursuits'! You no longer have to look at the post of the 'alien spider' that has been sitting there since July!!!

Today, out of nowhere, I decided to start up a new blog. It will be more focused on the arts/crafts/creative side of my life. I will however keep blogging here too.
