Childhood Memories

I inherited this child's dresser a while back.  I believe it was made during the Second World War and that it is made out of an old drawer.

I  used to play with the dresser on visits to my Nan.  I could play with it for hours.  There was so much stored inside the cupboard doors.  Want to have a peek?

There was heaps of tin plates, cups and teapots.  Many of the items Disney themed.

I used to love all of this tin ware and would spend ages playing with it and measuring out dried rice and pouring out imaginary cups of tea.

I used to spend time to get the arrangement on the shelves just right.

There was even some tiny glassware and ceramics which I will share with you at another time.  At the end of the visit I would pack up all the items and place them carefully back into the cupboard to play with another day.

  1. That's just gorgeous. Most likely highly collectable but Idon't think I could bear to part with it if it was mine.

  4. What a treasure trove- girls of all ages would love a fraction of this to enjoy incessantly! I have just been thinking about you for most of the last hour- making three heart shaped cakes to join into one shamrock one. Failing to conjure green from red, orange and blue colouring. Thinking of posting nonetheless tomorrow as a pathetic Friday Cake Bake!!

Do you know I had a tin tea set when I was little and I also had a little baking tray for buns, I had forgotten all about them! Thanks for jogging my memory Simone! :)

  11. How wonderful to inherit something that is so full of memories for you. It's lovely. I have memories of visiting my grandma and playing with the drawers from her treadle sewing machine. I loved all the buttons and threads.
