Popping in and a Peony

Thank you for your kind words on my last post.  Unfortunately Blogger has lost some of the comments that were made on that day.

I have been feeling very unsettled these past few days.  A bit fidgety.  When I am like this I tend to find some comfort in pottering about in the garden.  I ignore the fact that everything seems to be crumbling down around me and I focus on the pretty things.

This peony plant has about 7 buds on it at the moment.  The flowers take ages to open and once they do they only seem to last a couple of days.

It has such beautiful flowers which are so petal packed that the plant needs support to keep its lovely head from bowing,

  1. Gorgeous peonies. I have one that I moved early in the year. It has several buds but they seem to be taking their time coming out. I hope you settle down soon - maybe it's the moon phase? Pottering in the garden is very calming, though. It's a shame about the Blogger problems swiping people's nice comments. The same has happened to me.

  2. I loved seeing the pink peonies, they are so beautiful, and you describe them so well. Pottering in the garden is always a great antidote to feeling stressed. I hope you feel more settled soon. It's a shame about losing the lovely comments - but it's possible they may not be lost for good, so someone said.
Hope you have a good day tomorrow, and thanks for your lovely comment earlier on my blog.

  3. Paeonies are beautiful, aren't they - and that's a really pretty pink one. I find gardening helps a lot - as does Monty Don, so we're in good company! Abby x

  15. These are absolutely gorgeous! None of our peonies have opened yet, and as this is our first year, I have no idea what any of them will look like! I read an article in Where Women Create that made me think of you, especially this quote. "I've been in the transformation cocoon more than once. You know the place I'm speaking of. It's dark and murky and suddenly everything we think we are melts into unknowing. Life as it was known morphs drastically and feels, well, mushy." I know you will emerge from the cocoon. When you will it will be beautiful. Hang in there!
