June Magic

June is a magical month in the garden.  Overnight, June's spell ripened up a handful of raspberries for me to pick.
The Calendulas (Pot Marigold) opened up their petals to face the sun.

Beautiful purple flowers intertwine with the fern to make a striking display.

A self seeded poppy looks ready to burst!

Miniature apples give a taste of what's to come.

I have a long way to go to get my garden full of flowers yet this year, but it is coming and I have many things coming on in the greenhouse.  It looks promising.  This year, I WILL have a garden full of flowers.

  3. Doesn't your garden look fabulous!
I wish we had rapberries growing in the garden I could eat them by the punnet load. We had a self seeded poppy start to come up in the area just between us and our neighbour, but she was doing some work on the fencing between us yesterday and pulled it up!

You're right, poppies do look like they're about to burst when they're ready to open, it's like they hold on till the very last moment! :)

  12. Your garden is looking lovely Simone. We had our first raspberries from the garden today, with thick Jersey cream, and healthy organic ice-cream! The purple plant in your garden is Campanula. I have it in my garden, it is a good spreader! x

PS. My Elegant Ladies are a bit slow, rather too elegant if you ask me!

  14. Everything in your garden looks lovely! I love raspberries and your apples look good, too. We have goodeberries nearly ready to pick and the plum tree is full of little green plums. Your calendulas are a lot further forward than ours. Have a super weekend:)

  15. I always think your garden looks lovely. We should have a first crop from our raspberry plants this year, they're still at the flower stage though.

  16. I am seriously, succulently jealous- this is the height of aspirational coveting that bloggisme invokes! How did you get here, to this point? I never have summer colour- a few highlights now, but they'll be gone soon, and the apple tree hasn't repeated yet its successful fruition of one apple since autumn 2009!!

  18. Your garden is gorgeous. Unlike here, where we're in the process of trying to rejuvenate our little back garden. At a very slow pace!

  19. Oh I do love your garden. Wish I could stroll it with you meeting all the good things you've been tending. Do you talk to each of them? I'll bet you do. They respond enthusiastically to you. Do enjoy your bit of paradise. And keep sharing. Helps me renew my determination to take back the beds here from the invasives.
