The Ghost Cat

This is Teddy, a lovely old Persian boy who belongs to a family in the street where I live.  The family have quite a few older cats and have recently brought a new kitten home.  Teddy does not like the new kitten so he has left home.  I see him from time to time and am often startled by his ghostly appearance.  Maybe he is a ghost - he seems to have been wandering our streets forever...................

Edited: Just to let you know that I have been reliably informed that Teddy is being fed and cared for by a lady who lives close by to Teddy's old home.  He has not been abandoned.  Apart from having a disgruntled appearance he is really a most lovable cat who loves to be stroked and fussed over.

  3. Poor thing, I feel sorry for Teddy even though he looks the grumpiest cat I have even seen and I agree a bit like a ghost cat. x

  5. Persians always look disgruntled don't they? We have a similar one visit our garden occasionally - I feel so sorry for him - I wonder if someone has taken him in?

  6. Not the happiest cat I've seen, by any means! Looks like he's had his nose put out of joint!

  7. Awe poor old Teddy, no fun when a youngster comes along and steals the limelight! Hopefully he'll get over it soon and return home!

  9. poor Teddy, It's not fair having your house taken over by a young one, I feel sorry for Teddy, I hope he finds a loving house soon, before the winter comes.

  11. What a shame for old Teddy, not to feel welcome at your own home

  12. I will take Teddy home this second!
But I don't think Pickle and Fluffy will approve. Poor guy. I hope he'll be alright. He's too precious to be out on his own.

  13. Oh dear, what an expression but it sounds like poor old Teddy has just cause to be looking so grumpy! Glad someone is taking care of him, I couldn't bear to think of him out on the streets.xx

  14. Oh bless!

My aunt had a stray black cat take residence in her garden, so she got an old rabbit hutch for him, filled it with straw and a blanket and he lived there. We never did find out where he came from, but we called him "Smith" and he lived there for several years before old age started to take its toll and she eventually called the RSPCA to check him over (she couldn't take him in her house as he and her Siamese didn't get on so well) and the RSPCA took him to try and rehome.

Cats are so funny, though aren't they? They know what they want. In our old home we had a cat come into the house all the time (she'd peer through the window at us until we let her in and even jumped through the open window some days). It took us months to find out who she actually belonged to and it turns out she was a rescue cat and although she "lived" with this family, she didn't really like being around other cats, so was very aloof at their house. Yet in our house because she was the only cat she would climb onto your lap as soon as you sat down. The neighbours couldn't quite believe it when they saw it!

  16. What a scary glare Teddy has! Sorry to hear he feels replaced but nice that he is still cared for. I loved the look of the windfall apple cake and will be trying the recipe. Thanks.

  17. Aww, what a shame for him, and may I say rather thoughtless of his owners to think an established cat is going to welcome a new one. So glad the lady is being kind to him. No wonder he looks a bit gruff.

  18. Poor Teddy, that is the trouble when there are new additions to the family...Glad to hear he is being looked after in some way though. I have always had a soft spot for cats and used to feed over 20 wild cats as a child.
