Pagan Inspired Paper Craft

As I become more in touch with nature, my themes in paper crafting seem to be heading that way too!
I made these spirit of nature or 'Green Man' and Woman tags: yet to await their fate of being hole punched and adorned with a suitable tie.

The Green Man is often shown to have a stern appearance but I wanted mine to look happy and approachable.

I also made a hare and the moon tag.  The hare is quite stylised with an extraordinarily long front leg.  Have you ever noticed how long their limbs are, or even their ears?  Handsome, lithe creatures.  No wonder artists are inspired to paint them.

  1. I love your little hare Simone! They are beautiful creatures, I had the privilege of holding one once, it had been rescued and then had become a pet as he couldn't go back to wild. He was gorgeous, just like an enlogated rabbit with the most fantastic ears.
Love your Green Men too, We saw them when we visited Roslyn Chapel in Edinburgh, famous from the Da Vinci code, the chapel had quite a few Green Men engravings.
    Have a lovely week Simone,

  3. I love the Green Man stories- I was thinking about him yesterday whilst tramping through some old Irish woords! Mattman is very interested in legends and we were discussing Norsemen and the Banshee, and I was racking my brains for Green Man tales. Must do some revision! I painted a plate once with a mix of Green Man/Picasso lady with wreath image. I liked it!

And thank you for your kindness and support. It means a lot.

  15. Hello Simone,
You have done it again, making something so clever and unique. Two symbols of renewal, I love both the greenman and the gorgeous hare, I have a bit of a thing for hares, I have one or two ornaments of them including a moongazing hare.
    Have a lovely weekend. x
