New in the Fairy Garden

Today, I was delighted to spot this, and several other Californian Poppies in the fairy wildflower patch.  It really is the colour of sunshine!  I have been in the garden a lot over the last few days and am working on my 'moon' garden.  It still needs a lot of tinkering but I have a Buddha water feature as its focal point!

I recently read a post at Marigold Jam who was writing about the demise of the handwritten letter.  I promptly got a letter off to her as I know how nice it is to receive a surprise letter in the post.  That got me thinking.  Would any of you like to receive an occasional hand written letter from me?  If so, then let me know by leaving a comment in this post and email me so that I have your address details and I will put a list of names in my side bar of those who wish to participate.  At least you will know that not all your future post will be bills!  The only 'rule' I have to this is that you must have left a comment on my blog on a previous occasion so I know a bit about who I am writing to!!!

I am looking forward to having some blog pal pen pals!

  1. Your California poppy is so pretty and cheerful! Glad to see you have some sunshine. I hope to see more photos of your garden, and particularly your moon garden in the days to come!

I agree about the handwritten letter. I get ideas that I really need to write some and I occasionally do, but generally I am bad at that.

It would be lovely to get a letter from you Simone, especially since I know how lovely your handwriting is!

  3. That's a lovely idea and yes I'd love to receive a handwritten letter from you. I have bought 2 pretty sets of notepads and envelopes from the charity shop and they are crying out to be used. I'll email you my address.

  5. I do hope you won't get too many new pen pals! I really appreciated your note card and know how lovely your handwriting is so to keep in touch both by e-mail and hand written letters would be lovely but one thing I did think when I wrote to you and Lesley was that when we used to write to friends we didn't seem to feel the need to reply immediately as is the case with e-mails! So if and when you feel like it I'd say - yes please.

  6. I love your poppy - beautiful colour - I bought some at the Stanton in Peak open gardens but they didn't really survive the rain and the slugs - I am hoping they might come again next year - meanwhile I will keep looking at yours!!
Although I am new to blogging and have not been commenting on your blog for long (perhaps only one or two so far) I would love a handwritten letter as I too think it is important to keep the art of letter writing alive (and sending postcards too) - one drawback though - my handwriting is not wonderful - I dream of learning to do some calligraphy one day. I will send an email if OK with you.

  8. Simone,
Will there be Moonvines in your moon garden?? They are one of my favorite flowers, enormous swirls of delicious scent that open in the late afternoon so quickly you can nearly watch them unfurl.
It is always a pleasure to hear from you, and a hand written note would be most welcome. The last one you sent me is pinned to the bulletin board right above my computer desk and I look at it often. Of course, you would then need to receive one from me in turn....

  9. Simone,
Your moon garden looks to be off to a beautiful start! (I was looking at your latest post.) Oh, I do wish that I were a gardener. I keep thinking - "next year", but can barely manage to keep up with what I have to do now. But the rewards would be worth it! Oh well!
I would love to receive a letter from you, Simone, but only if you find the time and don't pressure yourself. I would definitely answer! I do agree that letter writing is becoming a lost art!
