Since my last blog post I have continued to make fabric flower brooches. I really feel like I have my crafting mojo back after it got lost for a while. I have really enjoyed selecting the fabrics for the brooches and the 'right' button and ribbon trim. I even enjoy ironing and folding the fabric before it is sewn together!!!
Tomorrow on November 1st, I start my 30 day project of learning 10 Latin words, phrases or sayings, each day for 30 days. I won't blog about it each day but will keep you posted on how well I am doing from time to time.
A freshly made pumpkin pie awaits me. I cheated and used Libby's tinned pumpkin and followed the recipe on the side of the tin. Generally I find fresh pumpkin a bit too fibrous and stringy and prefer to use that for soups.
Have a lovely day/evening wherever you are in the World. My thoughts go out to everyone affected by the extraordinary weather conditions we are being accustomed to. x
Your brooches are very pretty and I am very happy that you are in the mood for crafting again.
ReplyDeleteI shall pass on the Pumpkin pie, I can't stand the taste of them. I hope that you have a good evening with not too many tricksters.
Glad your mojo returned the brooches are certainly very pretty. Never made pumpkin pie and must say squashes of any kind don't really do it for me so like Toffeeapple I'll pass on that!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have found your crafting mojo, your flowers are so pretty, the little red and green one is very festive! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your pie and good luck with the Latin!
Have a lovely evening,
Vivienne x
You have been busy making flower brooches - they are very pretty - and pumpkin pie too. Last year we grew pumpkins in the garden, carved them for lanterns and made both soup and pie. This year with the weather being so bad we never even planted any seeds - so no pumpkins for today and only a few 'trick or treat' callers this evdening all clutching umbrellas:)
ReplyDeleteGo for it Simone. Hope you had a good evening. Jx
ReplyDeleteYour brooches are so pretty, you have done a great job.

ReplyDeleteYou sound so much brighter - I think crafting something by hand is a great spirit lifter. (aut viam inveniam aut faciam - springs to mind) Have a Happy Latin month! x

ReplyDeleteI had Risotto with pumpkin last week and didn't like it at all, too much sweet for my taste :(

Tempus Fugit! HA HA... I only know that Latin phrase since it was the name of our high school yearbook. It means TIME FLIES...but I am sure you knew that already...and it's true too, isn't it? xx
ReplyDeleteCaecilius ist im horto - thats all I can remember from school! (Caecilius (the chap) is in the garden!!) Those brooches look fabulous. xxx
