Fugaces Labuntur Anni

Or in other words; the fleeting years pass by.  This year has been no exception and I feel I have hardly had time to blink let alone savour life itself.

Today we had a reprieve from the wet and windy weather that has befallen us all week long.  Making the most of the dry spell and instead of rushing off headlong to the shops I was able to take in my surroundings.  I noticed that the holly bush in my front garden has berries.  I have not noticed that before.

This year has been rushed through at manic speed.  I refuse to be swept along in the run up to Christmas.  I am going to slow walk to it.  I am going to gather some plant material for the house, take some photos and then come home for a hot chocolate.  Care to slow walk with me?

  1. Yes, that is the only way that I can walk now but it does mean that I can see more of the things around me. Enjoy your saunter to the festive season and enjoy it all the more.

  4. Good choice Simone, I'm just back in from my walk in the park. It was chilly and misty but lovely. :) I agree with you this year has been the fastest of my life.
That's a very beautiful and festive photo!

  5. This year has gone by SO fast you're right, and I too take a slow walk to Christmas.
On any other walk I'll have to pass. I have to report that the next depression has just hit the SW, rain is smashing against my window as I write. :(

  9. Slow walk sounds bliss - sadly, my offspring seem to have other plans, mostly carried out at breakneck speed...

  10. I would love to slow walk with you, Simone.
I, too, refuse to be caught up in the busyness and craziness before Christmas. Noticing and enjoying small things, like the beautiful photo of your holly bush, sounds like a good way to go.
May we all enjoy a serene and lovely season!

  12. Good idea to have a 'slow walk' towards Christmas and enjoy all the season has to offer. Our actual walk yesterday was very slow indeed due to heavy mud and lots of puddles having to be waded through, we made it in the end but my legs ache today:)

  14. I agree with you, I have the feeling this year has gone by a lot faster than previous ones. It seems that only a few weeks ago we were entering 2012 and now it's almost at an end.
