Halcyon Days

My sister and me in the early 1960's.  I am on the right in a blue dress.  White socks, Clarks shoes and hair tied in plaits was the order of the day.  That's Auntie Nell looking out over her gate watching us scooter up and down our street.  The sky was blue, the streets were clean and all was right with the World.

My innocent self back in 1969.  If only that child knew then what I know now.

You wouldn't have wanted to know then what you know now, that's the innocence of childhood.

  5. Lovely photos of you and your sister! I'm a few years older than you but remember the little wisted frocks and Clarks shoes and sandals - I remember being measured for them in the shop - I had red sandals I seem to remember:)

  7. It was always sunny when we were children! Of course it might be that we choose not to remember the grey cold days we were stuck inside with nothing to do! Xxx
