Persevering with Wire Crochet Beaded Jewellery

I am still experimenting with wire and bead crochet jewellery with varying results.  Have you ever tried to unravel wire when you see a mistake has been made?  It is not the easiest of jobs and requires much *perseverance.

I was a little underwhelmed with the response to my necklace giveaway and am at a loss to understand why so many people have declined to comment or enter.  I have done 19 giveaways previously and the   responses to my giveaways in the past have been good and made the process much more fun.    There is still time to enter by leaving a comment on the previous post not forgetting to leave a reason why you would like to win it.

This has been a very strange week.  Although the weather has been dry and pleasant I have been staying close to home.  I cut the grass on Saturday but feel it was a bit premature as the ground is still so muddy and the blades of the mower kept churning up the earth.  I still need to sow seeds but my heart isn't in it and I do feel that I need to be in the right frame of mind before I attempt to do this.

My voluntary work has come to a standstill at the moment.  The group has got so large that I feel my role has been diminished.  It is such as shame as my voluntary work was the only contact I have with people outside my immediate family.  As the group has grown my confidence has waned.  I am not surprised that now we are into wine production and not just maintaining vines, everybody wants a piece of the action.

Today I feel as I am on tenterhooks.  I need to go out shopping but really feel I need to stay close to home.   Too much time on my hands methinks!  Too much time to worry about silly little things that don't really matter.

I hope that you are all having a nice week and not being a worrywart like me! x

  1. My mind goes to those dark places that yours seems to, Simone - it's such a drag. Today when I woke, I wanted to cry, to huddle down under the duvet, not to face the day at all. Sometimes this happens apropos of nothing ( or so it seems to me). Yesterday my car died on me, so I guess I was aware of that hassle today. This greyness, weather wise, doesn't help at all. Well, I must force myself to go and sort out some transport! Could you volunteer somewhere else? Look after yourself. Abby x

  2. Your work is lovely and I will go and alter my post for today to include your giveaway. Do you know I am feeling exactly like you at the moment too.

  3. Actually I think you should go out and plant those seeds because being out in the garden in the fresh air is one of the best therapies ever!!
I have realised that there is no rhyme or reason to blogs, bloggers and blogging, sometimes lots of people visit other times they are few on the ground and I don't know why! I put your giveaway on my sidebar in the hope that it would send some people your way, I have tweeted but I'm going to do it again now!

  4. I imagine you need a special sort of wire for this. Both your necklaces look beautiful and so delicate. I'm not entering your giveaway as I don't wear any jewellery myself but I do like what you make.

  5. I'm sorry you didn't get a huge response for your last post Simone and also that you aren't enjoying your volunteer work as much as you used to. I always find this time of year a bit of a trial it was so foggy this morning and yet now the sun is shining. We have managed to get jobs done in the garden this week but I haven't enjoyed the work and like you can't seem to motivate myself. I hope things look up for you soon, take care:)

Hi Simone - I too am sorry for your disappointment - I feel your frustration about this and also where your life is in general with the volunteering etc. Perhaps as the weather gets better you may find yourself drawn to be outside and fresh air always helps. I have unfortunately fallen asleep this evening and we are away this weekend but I will put a link on my post as your jewellery is so lovely - you are very creative.
I have had some difficulty leaving comments on blogger recently not sure if this is because I am with Wordpress - but maybe others are having trouble too (just a thought). As Green Rabbit Designs says there is no rhyme or reason to blogland - my daughter would say the same of the trade she gets in her new shop - she can have a brilliant Monday when it is raining and blowing a gale yet a poor Saturday when it is sunny and warm and in reverse the following week! Just keep persevering! xx

  7. Be of good heart, Simone. Sounds like you might need a change of scenery (even just figuratively). Shake things up a bit.

You will feel ready to plant your seeds when the time is right. If you look at it not as a chore you have to do, but as a pleasurable activity that will lead to a beautiful garden later, it might not seem so daunting.

Moods come and good. It always helps me to recognize the bad mood as simply that and remember that it won't be forever.

Hope your dark clouds pass quickly.

  8. Your necklace is beautiful. I absolutely love turquoise, it reminds me of the ocean and also pearls, very warm and gentle.

    Kind wishes
