Want to speak
But I am lost for words
Want to reach out
But can’t stretch that far
Want to connect
But lost the line
Want to be loved
But wasting my time
Want to feel
But armour protects
Want to stop wanting
As want never gets

How clever! But how sad - I would be happy to correspond with you if it would help to have someone to talk to? You are so talented and sensitive - I wish I could put into poetry my thoughts as you do. We are all lost souls searching for the meaning of things but some of us hide it better than others and some people just blunder through life without ever wondering at all which might be easier but think of the joys you'd miss too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem but I agree with Jane a bit sad too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image as well, hope the gardening is going well, lots of fresh air and exercise!

Very poignant words, Simone. You express yourself so well. The last lines spark a memory from my childhood when adults would say to children 'I want, never gets' but of course there are different types of wanting. Take care:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, melancholoy poem, Simone. And your photo looks like something in the stars or underwater. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSad words want to lift,
ReplyDeleteBest wishes want to gift.
xx
Hi Simone - what sad words but rest assured you are loved here in blogland by your readers. Your creativity will return - sometimes it reappears spontaneously when you least expect it - your baking alone is always very creative - I wished I was near enough to pop in and sample it!!! xx
ReplyDeleteWant to speak
ReplyDeleteBut I am lost for words: YOUR ELOQUENT WORDS SPEAK VOLUMES THAT YOUR BLOGGING FRIENDS CAN HEAR
Want to reach out
But can’t stretch that far: YOU'VE REACHED ACROSS THE OCEAN TO THE HEART OF THE USA
Want to connect
But lost the line; OUR CONNECTION TO EACH OTHER CAN NOT BE SEVERED
Want to be loved
But wasting my time: TIME SPENT LOVING IS NEVER WASTED NOR LOST
Want to feel
But armor protects; ARMOR IS ONLY ON THE OUTSIDE, FEELINGS ARE DEEP WITHIN
Want to stop wanting
As want never gets WANTING IS JUST THE FIRST STEP. JUST ONE MORE STEP, SIMONE. YOU'VE ALREADY TAKEN IT BY WRITING THIS POEM.
SENDING LOVE ALONG OUR SECURE LINE.
