France in a Bath

I really wanted a quick project to do today.  It's always a good idea to have all the things you need for when the creative muse takes over and luckily I was prepared for this particular project.  Last year I was fortunate to win some lovely lavender (as well as some other goodies) bought in the South of France from my lovely blogger friend Vivienne of Green Rabbit Designs (she really does make the most adorable crocheted rabbits).  I have been holding onto the French lavender until I could find a special project for it and today was the day to put it to use.

France in a Bath
200g powdered milk
120g Epsom salts
12 drops Lavender Essential oil
20g dried French Lavender buds
Airtight container

Mix the powdered milk and Epsom salts together in a large bowl.  Sprinkle over the essential oil, add the lavender buds and mix again.  Store in an airtight container.  Use a handful of the bath mix to running water for a relaxing bath.

* I adapted the recipe from Debora Robertson's Gifts from the Garden book substituting lavender where she had used roses.

  2. Oh how lovely Simone, that looks so lovely and I'm sure it's absolutely wonderful in a hot bath! Excellent use of the lavender! When you're lying in the bath, just close your eyes and imagine you're in the flower market in Nice! :)
