Joy List in July #2

Making an early start in the garden

Watching the bees in clover

Taking photos of summer plants

Staying in the garden from dawn until dusk

Sitting in a shady spot outside with a good book to read

I hope that you are making the most of the fleeting summer months getting outside and taking photos, sketching, drawing, reading, writing, observing or just taking deep breaths and drinking it all in.  Nature is abundant right now and there is so much activity, new life and new growth all around.  Soon the autumn will be upon us so it is vital to take advantage of the lighter summer days.   If you want more inspiration for ideas to 'savor summer' you can visit Anne's blog - the originator of the project here.

If you are looking for book inspiration - and not just for reading - I will be doing a book themed post on Friday.  I look forward to seeing you then!

  2. 'Bees in clover' has been one of the sights of this summer so far - so much clover and also self-heal/woundwort in the grass and so many bees at ankle level. I love your list of July Joys, Simone and look forward to your post on books:)

  4. A perfectly lovely list, Simone. When I first pulled up your blog and saw the title for your post I misread it as "lost in joy" but really, it sounds like you are lost in joy. :)

Have a wonderful week. Looking forward to seeing your book recommendations!

  8. We have been enjoying the summer too but have noticed we have started putting lights again in the evening. It's a sign that reminds me we are slowly heading away from summer, so we need to make the most of it while we have it! Sarah
