I have seen so many wonderful creating spaces on blogs this week and I wish to follow their example. My current environment is hardly conducive to creating and a reflection of my highly chaotic state of mind over the last few months!
It is overwhelming when confronted with such a lot of things to sort out. I think I will start off by putting things in large boxes then dealing with one box at a time. If I ever get on top of organising this room I will let you know. I believe I have posted about sorting out this room before and it was tidy for a time but never properly organised.
I am still finding and commenting on blogs in the 300in30days challenge and it has indeed been a challenge. So far I have commented 83 times since 1 October so I am on target. Well, I'd best get on now. I have a helluva lot of sorting out to do.
Have a great weekend!
Good luck! Maybe do as the clutterbusters suggest and put what you know you want in one box, what you know you will never use in another and have a third for the don't know stuff then begin by sorting out the definitely want box and rearranging your craft space and maybe you will feel so much more able to create in your by then clear and attractive space that the other two boxes will never be opened and can go if you haven't wanted any of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing it when you've organised it. My space for crafting is very small and organisation is a constant battle... one I often lose... xx
ReplyDeleteOh lol, this is so me :) You know, I had my craft space really neat and organized a couple of months ago. But then I started crafting, drawing and painting like crazy... well... haha! Good luck to you! I'll try to follow your example, really, enough is enough. Thank you so much for your sweet visit to my blog! Wishing you a beautiful day, xx Wen
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how daunting this task seems. Getting everything nice and organized will feel so good! I think I would be paralyzed if I couldn't have a space for creating, although some people thrive in a space with everything out to be seen and at hand.
ReplyDeleteSometimes my space does get disorganized and I know I have so many bits and pieces that I probably don't need anymore (that are carefully hidden away), but I make a point of reorganizing and cleaning weekly and it helps me stay on top of it all. I should probably go through everything again like I did last winter.
Good luck with this! Putting on a good audiobook or some good music helps make the task go more easily I find.
Good luck with the sorting. It's my kind of job. I love a good sort out. If I lived close by I'd volunteer to come round and help.

It's time, Simone.
ReplyDeleteI want to see lots of your work this winter so take your time, enjoy the process, and reap the benefits of putting things in order. One of the best things that comes of doing this job thoroughly is really getting to know what you have already in your studio. I'm sure it will surprise and delight you. Can't wait to see you on the other side. I'm cheering for you!
I think it will do you good to sort it all out Simone, I know when I have a blitz at home, I feel great afterwards.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your 'new' creative space.

Good luck with the sorting, just a little clearing at a time will go a long way to making you feel more organised:)
ReplyDeleteYou'll feel much better for a good old clear out - I recently did it! x
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the sorting....my room looks exactly the same by the way....I can't face it at the moment...I might have a go at half term!

I'm hoping your 'after' picture will inspire me to do mine.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! xx
I remember posting about tidying our study/craft/spare room several years ago. It's still not tidy, and after the last two years of studying & teaching it's worse than ever. Don't beat yourself up about it, tidy it when you feel motivated and have time. I will have three child & work-free days (till 3pm anyway!) after our Oct break, I'm planning to get lots done then. Such time is very rare for me so I always make the most of it. The last time I had a block of days like that I tiled the kitched, it had only been waiting 10 years! I still intend to post about that, maybe I'll get that done soon too...
ReplyDeleteIt will be good to get your craft space all sorted out and you will feel much better! I am having a sort out of my fabrics and sewing things at the moment...it does take time but I find it is better to do it little and often!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Simone.

Simone, I just got my new workroom decorated and organized, and let me tell you that just a few weeks ago it looked a whole lot like yours. I'll be posting on it this next week. It did take work and perseverance to get it to this point, but it is so worth the effort. It's hard to feel creative when one's workspace is in disarray. I started by putting all "like" items in big plastic storage bins, to get the stuff off the floor and organized. Then I was able to decide what I needed in the way of storage pieces. I feel so happy and content now with my very little space. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy workroom is just starting t look a little bit chaotic ... I hope I can nip it in the bud! I hate working in mess!
ReplyDeleteI'm way behind schedule on my commenting challenge ... but I'm keeping going - just 7 days left now.
I have similar pockets of disarray in my studio. Good luck with your tidying and thank you for your kind comments on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, have to confess my craft room looks exactly the same!
